The Royal Forest sits on Ranger’s Road at the edge of Epping Forest in Chingford, and its restored historic interiors make a particularly fitting setting for a Christmas workshop built around seasonal foliage.
The 19th-century building has been carefully renovated as a pub, restaurant and hotel, retaining plenty of character while adding warm, comfortable spaces including its library and bright Forest Room. Against that backdrop, Alex from Fashioned Flowers will guide you through making a full natural Christmas wreath using evergreen foliage, texture and festive decorative details.
Every workshop is suitable for beginners. Alex will demonstrate the floristry techniques step by step, help with the mechanics and balance of the design, and be on hand throughout while you make the wreath your own.
There are two Royal Forest sessions for 2026: a Monday morning Mum & Baby workshop and a Wednesday evening Wreath & Wine session. Both are £65 per person and include all materials, tools and guidance. The Mum & Baby session includes one hot drink, while the evening session includes one mulled wine or hot chocolate.
Mum & Baby Christmas Wreath Making · £65 per person
A relaxed morning session with plenty of room for prams, traditional baby-changing facilities and a format designed to let parents pause whenever their baby needs them.
Tea and coffee are available at The Royal Forest from 10am, and the kitchen opens at noon if you would like to stay for lunch afterwards.
The session includes all wreath-making materials and guidance, with one hot drink included.
Wreath & Wine · £65 per person
A festive midweek evening of wreath making inside The Royal Forest, with one mulled wine or hot chocolate included.
The pub and kitchen remain open throughout the evening, so you can easily combine the workshop with dinner or another drink.
The Royal Forest is a full pub and restaurant with a seasonal food menu, a carefully chosen wine list and a broad bar selection including beer, cocktails, spritzes, mocktails, spirits and soft drinks.
The Mum & Baby ticket includes one hot drink. The evening Wreath & Wine ticket includes one mulled wine or hot chocolate.
For the Monday morning session, tea and coffee are served from 10am and the kitchen opens at noon, making it easy to stay for lunch after your wreath is finished.
For the Wednesday evening workshop, the kitchen is open until 9:45pm, so food can be ordered before or around the session.

Chingford station is around an eight-minute walk away and is served by the London Overground Weaver line, with direct trains from Liverpool Street.
Chingford Bus Garage is beside the station and is served by a wide range of local routes.
The Royal Forest has a large on-site car park with spaces at the front and rear of the building. Parking is first come, first served. You must register your vehicle when you arrive inside the pub; unregistered vehicles may receive a parking charge.
