When Charlotte and Kane planned their ceremony at Hackney Town Hall, they wanted a floral statement that matched the bold, contemporary energy of one of London's most iconic civic venues. Their vision centred around vibrant pinks, corals and pops of orange, bringing warmth and movement into the striking North Atrium.
Against the clean architectural backdrop of the space, the vivid palette transformed the hall into something celebratory, modern and intimate.
THE LOGISTICS
Mastering a 10-Minute Install
Every wedding venue has its own rhythm, and Hackney Town Hall is no exception. Due to the venue's tightly managed schedule, we were given a strict 10-minute window to deliver and install the ceremony florals before guests arrived.
At Fashioned Flowers, logistics are just as important as creativity. For Charlotte and Kane's ceremony, this meant meticulous pre-planning and precision timing from start to finish.
We arrived with two large-scale floral installations fully pre-constructed and ready to place. The designs featured sculptural pink anthuriums, lush hydrangeas and roses, alongside architectural snapdragons and calla lilies that added height, movement and softness throughout the arrangements.
The result was a seamless transformation that looked as though it had taken hours to create, completed calmly and efficiently moments before the ceremony began.
THE CEREMONY
A Modern Floral Statement in the North Atrium
The metallic textures and soaring ceilings of the North Atrium created the perfect contrast for our abundance-style floral designs.
Positioned on sleek white plinths, the arrangements framed the couple with bold contemporary colour while softening the industrial tones of the venue. The layered florals brought warmth and energy into the architectural space without competing with its clean modern lines.
REPURPOSING
Flowers on the Move: The Routemaster Transition
Sustainability and thoughtful design were key considerations throughout this ceremony-only brief. As the couple already had separate florals arranged for their reception, we wanted to ensure these beautiful ceremony flowers continued to be enjoyed long after the vows.
Following the ceremony, the florals were carefully wrapped into guest-friendly bundles and carried aboard a classic red Routemaster bus, allowing the flowers to continue the journey through London alongside the celebration itself.
The transition created a lovely continuation of colour, scent and atmosphere as guests travelled to the next part of the day.
